Checking run to stay onside and move onto the ball to finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on checking our run to stay onside and move onto the ball to finish. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball to the player who sets back to the coach. The player then moves across the mannequin/cone which represents the offside line. The player looks to check their run until the coach makes contact with the ball before then moving onto the ball to finish. The player should get their head up early before accelerating onto the ball to finish. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
