Receiving skills to take the ball into space to finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on receiving skills to take the ball into space to finish. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who moves off the cone to receive on the back foot to open out and play to the coach. The player then looks to move to the deeper cone where they receive the ball back and let the ball come across the body to open out and take the ball into space to finish. The player should receive the ball on the back foot and open the hips to enable their touch to go into space. The player then reacts to drop round the highest cone to receive and set back to the coach before moving around the deeper cone and meet the ball to touch into space and finish. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
